Betz Method Group Fitness Classes:

Betz Method Strength & Conditioning is excited to offer group fitness classes in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This is not a boot camp or Crossfit but a well-designed, balanced session that trains the body in all areas of motion using a variety of tools to get the job done. Yes, jumping jacks, ‘burpees’ and prancing around the park are certainly good for you and will help get you more fit but none of them are the correct exercise modality for those of you who want results and want them safely. Boot camp fitness classes also do not take into account someone’s ability or body type; everyone is doing the same thing at the same time. Betz Method’s group fitness classes in Williamsburg, Brooklyn take into account numerous variables to appropriately challenge everyone.

Modified Strong Man Fitness Classes:

Ever been up late at night thumbing through channels and happen to catch extremely large men moving very large and awkward objects on ESPN? Maybe you say to yourself “I could never do that” or “Why would I ever want to do that?” The answer is to change your body! I’ve seen it year after year: the same people doing “CARDIO” in a brooklyn gym but never changing their bodies. The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again, hoping for a different result. Do something different!  Try our group fitness classes in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and you’ll be amazed at the results.

1: MENTAL TOUGHNESS- There is something very empowering about picking up, dragging or pushing a menacing looking object across the yard! It gives you a feeling of accomplishment.

2: ANAEROBIC CONDITIONING: When performing these feats, you are working virtually every muscle in your body. Using large muscle groups has a very distinct hormonal effect on the body.

3: MUSCULAR ENDURANCE: After just a few sessions you will be able to move from station to station more efficiently, with less time between stations, giving you more muscle endurance which is necessary for almost any endeavor.

4: FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH: The awkwardness of these lifts, pulls and throws build true functional strength from head to toe. This enables you to strengthen muscles that are nearly impossible to train in a traditional weight lifting program.

5: CARDIOVASCULAR TRAINING: Just pull or push a sled across the parking lot and tell me what your heart rate is. Do you think your heart knows the difference between a sled push and a jog on the treadmill or elliptical? The benefits of Modified Strong Man Training far exceed that of traditional cardiovascular training!

Baby Boot Camp Fitness Classes:

Born out of necessity, Baby Boot Camp arrived shortly after Kristen Horler’s first child in August 2001. Horler searched the San Francisco Bay Area for a postnatal fitness class. After extensive research, she was unable to find a challenging workout that didn’t require hiring a personal trainer and babysitter or purchasing a gym membership. Drawing from her experience as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, triathlete and mother, she developed Baby Boot Camp to balance the fitness needs of new moms with their desire to spend time with their baby. This innovative, stroller-fitness program helps moms regain or enhance pre-pregnancy fitness levels and meet the physical challenges of parenting by emphasizing strength training in a supportive environment. Today, Baby Boot Camp classes are available across the US – ours is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and headed up by trainer Mike Camarra.
